Papaya is one of the world's fastest-growing mobile game companies, providing entertainment for millions of users across multiple apps. The company is headquartered in the heart of Tel Aviv.

We are looking for a sharp, proactive and passionate Privacy & Compliance Counsel, to join our legal team. You will manage privacy and regulatory compliance aspects across all business units, develop policies and practices in these respects, and ensure adherence - reporting to the General Counsel. You will also support and assist with gaming-related aspects arising in connection with our business.

 


Responsibilities

  • Lead the shaping, communication and implementation of policies and procedures that accurately reflect compliance requirements, industry best practices, and company objectives.
  • Identify, assess and address potential compliance risks - while partnering with various departments to establish risk mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor, audit and ensure compliance with applicable privacy laws and compliance regulations (e.g., KYC, AML) relevant to the company operations.
  • Maintain in-depth understanding of industry regulations, developments in privacy and other applicable laws and standards - while providing expert guidance to stakeholders.
  • Support and collaborate with our various business units in all aspects of global privacy regulations, data protection, and customer-related queries.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience (preferably in the gaming industry), as in-house legal counsel or as a senior associate in a top tier law firm.
  • In-depth knowledge of data protection and privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR and CPRA), and compliance aspects (KYC, AML).
  • Excellent business judgment and strategic thinking.
  • Team player with superb interpersonal skills; commitment to working in a dynamic environment; and ability to establish relationships across the company.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to manage time and prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to turn complex concepts into actionable recommendations.
  • Fluent in English.
