What is PAPAYA’s vision for the future?
We’re continuing to innovate our infrastructure for skill-based mobile gaming competition and create a trusted arena where anyone can compete fairly, improve, and belong.
That means expanding multiplayer formats and evolving social play, from squads to team challenges to live events.
We want to take the games people already love and make them meaningful, competitive, shared experiences, both online and in the real world.
What is PAPAYA’s business model?
PAPAYA built its platform on tournament-style games to deliver more compelling, exciting gameplay and opportunities for multiplayer, skill-based competitions. Our business model is based on taking a platform fee out of the total entry fees pool in each tournament.
The PAPAYA Platform
What is skill-based gaming? Are PAPAYA games skills-based?
Skill-based gaming refers to games in which your decisions, speed, accuracy, and strategy determine the outcome. Unlike games of chance, where randomness determines the results, skill based games reward players who perform better.
All PAPAYA games are designed so that your ability drives your results. Our matchmaking model connects players with others of similar skill levels to deliver more enjoyable, competitive, and exciting gameplay.
Who are the players in PAPAYA games? Are all the people real, or are there bots?
The players of PAPAYA games are all real people. No bots are used in competitions.
Does PAPAYA use bots in its games?
No. PAPAYA currently does not use bots in any of its games. Many of PAPAYA’s games have been tested by independent third party FTI Consulting, who concluded that there was no evidence of PAPAYA’s pairing human players with bots in competitive tournaments during the period analyzed.
How is PAPAYA’s competition platform different from traditional head-to-head gaming, and what makes its multiplayer tournament format uniquely fair and competitive?
PAPAYA’s platform is based on multiplayer tournaments, not head-to-head matches. Instead of pairing two players, PAPAYA places groups of players into the same tournament format, where each participant receives identical conditions: The same deck, same rules, same time constraints, and same scoring system.
Because every player competes asynchronously but under the exact same starting conditions, winning is determined by who performs best.
The result is a fair, scalable, and transparent competitive environment that rewards players for mastery, and allows PAPAYA to transform classic single-player games into rich multiplayer competitions.
How does PAPAYA’s matchmaking system work? Are you matched against players of similar skill?
PAPAYA’s proprietary matchmaking system analyzes your performance to estimate your skill level. You are then matched with players who have similar skill ratings, creating fair, balanced competitions.
How does PAPAYA ensure fair competition on its platform?
Fairness is built into the platform at every level: o Identical decks and conditions for every competitor o Real‑time scoring and server‑side validation o Skill‑based matchmaking o No in‑game advantages can be purchased
This ensures that winning is based on how well you play.
Do I need to spend real money to play PAPAYA games?
No. PAPAYA offers both free competitions using Gems and cash competitions.
Can I win money playing PAPAYA games?
Yes. Since PAPAYA games are skill-based competitions, players can compete for real cash prizes. Your performance determines your outcome.
Who designs PAPAYA’s games? Can anyone publish a game using PAPAYA’s competition and matchmaking system?
Every PAPAYA title is designed, built, and maintained in‑house by PAPAYA’s own development teams. Unlike other companies in the space, PAPAYA does not allow external developers to publish games on its system. This unified studio model ensures: o Consistent fairness and quality o Shared resources (art, design, engineering) o Faster updates and improvements o A unified competitive framework across all games
